May 16, 2022
Asseco has started cooperation with the Silesian Center for Law Engineering, Technology and Digital Competence Cyber Science to jointly popularize issues related to digitization, educate specialists in digitization and cyber security, and educate on what opportunities modern technologies offer in business.
The Silesian Center for Law Engineering, Technology and Digital Competence CYBER SCIENCE is a scientific and didactic consortium formed by the University of Silesia in Katowice, the Research and Academic Computer Network - National Research Institute NASK, the University of Economics in Katowice and the Silesian University of Technology. Its objective is to conduct research and didactic activities.
Digitization affects increasingly more areas of our lives. It is an essential element in the functioning of companies and institutions. Introduction of digital solutions always requires changes across the organization, on different levels, with the support of management and appropriate preparation of people. Nowadays cyber security is also critical on the level of companies, institutions as well as whole countries. Therefore, leaders of change are needed, with a broad view from the perspective of different areas of the organization. They should be visionaries who not only have a good understanding of their business, but also of the opportunities that technology offers and the risks that operating in cyberspace can entail. By joining Cyber Science, as the leader of digitization in Poland, we want to educate future experts and leaders in the use and implementation of digital solutions and cyber security, in order to also support businesses and institutions in digital transformation - says Andrzej Dopieraa, President of Asseco Data Systems, Vice President of Asseco Poland, member of the Scientific Board of the Cyber Science Postgraduate Studies
The first joint project of Asseco and Cyber Science will be cooperation within postgraduate studies organized by the consortium. It is planned to launch two majors: Tokenization and Process Automation in the Digital Economy and Cyber Security Management. Asseco experts will give lectures on cyber security and trust services.
Modern scientific research as well as teaching requires an interdisciplinary approach. In modern universities, both Western and Asian, more and more often joint units are created, combining many previously separate fields of science. The combination of technology, law, management and new technologies in the world around us is obvious, and this should also be the case in research and teaching. That is why I am glad that under the umbrella of Cyber Science, together with Asseco, we will create a framework for the functioning of modern, digital economy, and improve competence of managers and experts in this field, which in the long run will translate into increased competitiveness of Polish companies and rising awareness of the society as regards use of modern technologies - says Ph.D. Dariusz Szostek, Director of CyberScience.
